About us
In the early 1900s, the tables of De Gamlas Hem catered to “cultured and honorable elderly ladies,” when the house served as a private retirement home for Oulu’s gentry. Today, the protected Art Nouveau villa operates as a hotel and restaurant and is a popular venue for meetings and celebrations.

You are welcome to drop by the restaurant for breakfast, lunch, or dinner to enjoy thoughtfully designed and carefully prepared dishes. In addition to the food, the staff receive abundant praise—and for good reason.
A particular specialty of the house is the traditional five o’clock tea, featuring a selection of carefully brewed teas, unique coffee made from beans sourced exclusively from a small roastery in Kuopio, and an assortment of savory and sweet delicacies prepared in our own kitchen.
