About us
The Tavern kitchen creates a delicious Finnish menu out of pure domestic ingredients flavoured with the delicacies of the season. Local food is naturally the cornerstone of the Tavern, which has stood in its current place for at least 150 years.

The Sokeri-Jussi Tavern cooks unpretentious, delicious meals out of local ingredients. Our speciality, Grandma’s Kitchen, is traditional Northern Ostrobothnian food at its best.
The food culture of Oulu is based on eastern and western influences with a pinch of Lappish exoticism. The willingness to experiment that is characteristic of the food tradition in seaports has left its mark on the food tradition – the ingredients brought home by the sailors took root quickly.
We offer the Arctic Food Lab menu made from local ingredients.
